Initial Enquiry
Upon your initial enquiry I may ask a series of questions to determine your needs and requirements to be able to provide an accurate quote. Whilst discussing your ideas I am more than happy to make any suggestions if needed. selecting the right location
I am a firm believer in selecting the right location for the individual, so if your happy place is at the beach then stick to the beach, if you're more of a green thumb and love the vibrancy of a garden or the rich contrast of a forest then this is your place! I have a handful of selected spots I like to use, keeping in mind not to select an overly busy place (because who likes photo bombers). If you are unsure I am more than happy to send you my Location Guide which highlights all my favourite spots in Adelaide.
Booking in your session
Prior to booking a session you will be sent a Social Media Photography Consent and Release disclaimer to read and sign. By signing the disclaimer you agree to release your photos to Schinella Photography to be used for advertising and promotional purposes on social media eg; Facebook, Instagram and website. When we have decided on a suitable date, time and location for your session a booking link will be sent to you and you will need to fill out some details. Once this is submitted you will receive a booking confirmation pack complete with a short questionnaire to fill in, a contract to read and sign and your invoice. A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking date, the remaining balance is due 1 week prior to your session. So that we can become better acquainted I would love if you could include any extra info about you or your family in your questionnaire such as favourite songs, children's favourite tv show, most treasured toy, favourite colour or sport etc.
Styling
Once you have completed your booking I will send through my Style Guide for you to read through, this explains how to best style you and your family so that you feel confident, comfortable and prepared for your session. Some colours, styles and certain types of fabrics can really enhance the overall look of your gallery. Think of this experience as a visual investment for you and your family to reminisce on for many years to come, these cherished memories will be handed down through the generations. Organisation and preparation
If you have booked a Newborn Session I will send you my Newborn Sessions In Home Guide to have a read through which will help prepare you and your family for the session and what to expect. I will be in contact with you the week of your session to confirm the time and location for your session. The day before your session I will send my contact number and a dropped pin location via maps so you can plan your route if we are shooting on location.
On the day of your session I will arrive approximately 30 mins prior to the agreed time to scope out the best spots. When we meet it will be very casual and I will try to make you feel at ease. If you or your family are a bit nervous about having photos taken, no problems I will do my best to make you feel comfortable to get the most out of your session, I promise no scary camera at first sight! What should I wear for my session and do you have a client wardrobe?
I don't currently have a 'client wardrobe' but I do have a selection of pieces for your Newborn to wear if required, as well as some beanies, floral head pieces, booties, wraps, blankets and bloomers to choose from. I would always suggest to choose neutrals; white, cream, beige, taupe etc, try to avoid matching but rather complimenting one another. Free flowing comfortable fabrics always photograph beautifully, think Linens, Chiffons etc. My rule of thumb is 'Less is more'. For every client who books a session with me they will receive a digital copy of my Style Guide which I have carefully curated to assist with styling and wardrobe selection for the whole family. I can recommend the lovely April from Soult Collective to assist in styling and dress hire options to help you achieve that perfect look for your session.
My partner doesn't like having their pictures taken
Think of me as a friend, with over 20 years experience in the customer service industry chatting to complete strangers I enjoy the challenge of being able to break the awkward silence and form organic connections with my clients. I am a bubbly people person I won't be all up in your grill. When my clients are happy and relaxed this ensures some beautiful natural moments to be captured.
Can I book a session in advance?
Sure! A 50% non refundable deposit and signed contract is required upon booking to secure your date, the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your booking date.
My baby is going to be delivered earlier than we expected can I get my deposit back or reschedule my maternity session?
All deposits made are non-refundable, however I will endeavour to accommodate your needs as best I can within reason eg; if your due date gets brought forward or baby arrives earlier than planned we can look at rescheduling dates sooner or transferring your deposit to a later date or alternate type of session eg; Newborn or Family Session.
Will our images be visible to the public and posted on social media or the website?
Your images may be published on our social media platforms and/or our website. Occasionally they may be utilised for advertising purposes of the business eg in fliers or on digital advertising platforms. Prior to booking a session you will be sent a Social Media Photography Consent and Release disclaimer to read and sign. By signing the disclaimer you agree to release your photos to Schinella Photography to be used for advertising and promotional purposes on social media eg; Facebook, Instagram and website. By signing your contract you are giving permission for any images taken at your session to be used for the above mentioned purposes by the photographer. If you require a private image gallery you must advise the photographer in writing prior to signing your contract, an additional privacy/security fee will apply to your invoice.
