Have you been considering booking a newborn photoshoot but just not quite sure on WHEN?


I don’t feel it should be an ‘if’ question, you have just spent the last 9 months growing and connecting with this tiny squishy little human, wondering who they will look like, what colour hair and eyes will they have? Who will they take after? Let me tell you this, YOU are going to want to capture this beautiful little miracle in their tiny, sleepy squishyness and preserve the warmth of this memory FOREVER.


So in terms of WHEN you should book your Adelaide newborn photoshoot I will always recommend the first 7-14 days after birth. Providing mum and bubs are strong and healthy and feeling comfortable. Ideally in this time your baby will still be very sleepy, and floppy and this makes for a relatively smooth session to capture those lovely quiet moments together.


4 years years later and I still look back at my baby boy during our newborn photoshoot and I just miss him being so tiny and sleepy and just perfectly beautiful in my arms. To be honest I get quite emotional especially knowing how long it took and how hard it was for me to become a mum. I know I can never re live this moment but looking back on our photos I can reminisce and remember exactly how I felt in that moment of sheer happiness. I am so thankful we were able to create these memories. It was a very cold winter July 2021, and as I was released from hospital we were forced into a COVID lockdown at home for a week I think it was. It felt like we had our own little bubble of goodness that no one could pop. I remember holding his tiny fingers and watching him wrap his little hands around my finger, and kissing his delicate forehead knowing I had created this perfect little human who I would love and protect my whole life.


Preparing for a newborn photoshoot can be overwhelming especially when you are struggling with the thought of getting dressed, putting on makeup and leaving the house. Don’t put undue stress on yourself or bubs, stay home, get comfy, brew up a cuppa I’m more than happy to come to you and work with you in your safe space.
