As a Maternity Photographer in Adelaide I often get asked Why Maternity Photoshoots are done at Sunset? In response to this question I would say because soft golden light is most flattering and can produce the most dreamy photos in your gallery. Although I am a morning person and would love to do a Sunrise Photoshoot, majority of my clients will choose to do their sessions at Sunset. This also fits well with my family life.

Have you ever noticed sometimes in certain photos the sun causes the subject to squint, or their eyes may be partially closed due to the glare? This is because the sun is high in the sky and the rays are just so bright its really hard for some people to open their eyes wide, especially if they have sensitive eyes to the light, this can also cause certain people headaches. There is also the uneven patches of light that can cast shadows across the face or body. As a Maternity Photographer this is not ideal when producing beautiful dreamy images to my clients, and can cause a lot of issues in post editing. This is why most Maternity Photographers like myself will choose Sunrise or Sunset times to photograph their clients.

Imagine cradling the warm sun kissed skin of your baby bump, the golden light reflecting through your hair, the sound of the waves crashing as the calm breeze gently blows across your face, and that gorgeous sun flare peeping from behind - what could be dreamier than having your Maternity Photoshoot shot at Sunset in Adelaide.

I understand with little ones bedtime routines can make it difficult during daylight savings however, for one night, let your hair down and enjoy quality time making memories you will cherish forever, you will never get this moment back again.

Let's document this special time in your life for you and your family to reminisce on.
